Reluctant Readers
At RNIB Bookshare we really want to help all learners to enjoy reading , and get hold of a book they can read in their preferred format.
The British Dyslexia Association has some advice on supporting a child struggling with reading.
Try these suggested tips :
- Choose a quiet environment
- Have a drink and snack ready
- Keep it short! - 10 minutes quality is better than 30 minutes
- Try an audio book
- Share reading - take it in turns
- Choose books that meet their interests
