What is RNIB Personal Transcription service?

Ivybridge Personal Transcription cannot provide large print and braille revision guides, curriculum materials and textbooks. These materials are strictly for educational organisations to provide to students. Ivybridge Personal Transcription can only provide leisure reading materials.

RNIB Personal Transcription service is a free service, replacing RNIB's Giant Print Library for children. It is available directly to families through accounts set up in their child’s name on RNIB Library.

  • Giant print books the same week that regular print books are published. Readers will no longer have to wait to read the next book in a series while your friends read ahead.
  • Brand new print books every time, delivered by post.
  • A choice of 20,000 children’s fiction titles, compared with 3,000 in the old library.
  • Sharper, high-contrast modern printing.
  • A choice of large and giant print sizes.

Support for schools

School's are responsible for the provision of accessible and modified resources for their learners. RNIB's Education team can offer advice on this provision if it's new to you.

Our section on Reading books can help you look at the different ways our titles can be used by learners. Our best advice is to use Dolphin EasyReader, as once set up a title opens easily and immediately in the learners preferred format. Finally, if you need to create a modified hard copy of a title, we also provide some advice on this too.

If you are a learner, or supporting a learner, the best way to access RNIB Bookshare is through School, College or Uni. Access curriculum texts in preferred electronic formats through Dolphin's EasyReader accessible reading app.

Please contact your educational organisation and ask them to provide a membership account and log in details.
