Updating and changing the Primary Contact

Primary Contact information can only be changed by the Primary Contact. This person is responsible for the managing of the account, adding and updating teachers and members and the correct usage of the account. They are the main contact person for RNIB Bookshare to raise any queries with your organisations usage of RNIB Bookshare and its resources.

As the lead representative for your organsation, you must use your organisational address and email (named not generic 'office@' type mailbox address). personal addresses and emails are not accepted.   

Changing the Primary Contact:

As only the Primary Contact can change this account information, they should arrange to change the Primary Contact information before they are no longer the relevant person to be in this role. 

Primary Contact changing over a new Primary Contact

  1. Log in and Go to My Homepage
  2. Find the Teachers link in the right hand navigation list 
  3. Select teacher you wish to make Primary Contact and select Edit teacher
  4. If you need to, you can update the user's details from this page, including updating their email address and setting a new password.
  5. Navigate to the section Update primary contact by scrolling down the page.
  6. Select Yes, please update my organisation's primary contact
  7. You will be prompted to check you're happy with who you are updating and select the button Yes, please update my organisation's primary contact again.

Primary Contact no longer in role, and need a new Primary Contact?

It is a common occurance that the Primary Contact leaves or changes role and no one is able to change the information to a new Primary Contact. If this is the case, we can help you update your organisations account.

Please note

Only one Primary Contact can be set up within your organisation at a time. This person is known as the "Primary Contact" and is the owner of the organisation, responsible for managing the members (staff and learners) and inviting others to join the organisation in order to give them download rights.
