Dolphin EasyReader is an accessible reading app from trusted assistive technology provider: Dolphin Computer Access.  EasyReader App removes the barriers to accessible reading and provides an experience that enables people with vision impairments, dyslexia or other print disabilities to access books and read independently. 
 

Dolphin believes the joy of reading should be available and accessible to everyone, and EasyReader App makes this happen.

Customise Your Reading Experience

Once you have the app, you can set your preferred reading style for your devices, so the books you choose will open with your accessibility preferences already set. You can customise the reading experience in many ways, so it’s perfect for you. These include: 

  • Text the size and font you prefer – including dyslexia-friendly fonts
  • Your preferred background, text and highlight colours 
  • Adjustable letter and line spacing 
  • Listen to narrated audiobooks and text-to-speech options 
  • Choose the reading speed you prefer
  • Highlight text to synchronise with the speech as you read along

 

Read independently

EasyReader App is built to ensure you can navigate and read books independently. You can: 

  • Move around the text to skim read and skip to any page or chapter
  • Search for keywords or phrases in the text
  • Add bookmarks and notes 
  • Import up to ten files from your device to read with accessibility features 
  • Read with your preferred accessibility settings

Download Dolphin EasyReader App

You can access, download and read titles from the RNIB Bookshare collection using EasyReader App on a huge range of devices. The app is free and you can download it for:



Schools can also install EasyReader App for Windows across their whole network, this is best for use with an EasyReader Premium Education Plan.

 

How to Install and Set Up EasyReader App

Download the Dolphin EasyReader App from the device's app store and use the simple instructions below to set it up on your devices. Dolphin does not limit the number of devices you can use, and it's always free to download and use. 

  1. Open EasyReader App
  2. Open the Side Menu and select RNIB Bookshare from the list of libraries
  3. Log in to your RNIB Bookshare membership 
  4. Search for the title you need, or find it in your RNIB Bookshare reading list or download history
  5. Personalise your own in-app reading preferences 
  6. Download your book and select ‘Open’ to start reading!

 

Read in a way that’s accessible to you, with your preferred font, colours, voices and reading speed. 

EasyReader Premium

Choose EasyReader Premium to continue reading across your devices – at school and home. A Premium Plan saves your book list, reading position, reading preferences, accessibility preferences and bookmarks, so you can quickly pick up where you left off.
